Registration for Eid ul Adha 2027 opens in March 2027. Eid falls in mid-May, subject to moon sighting. Join the waiting list above and you'll be contacted before we open to the public — capacity is limited because animals are sourced and confirmed months in advance.
Yes. The sacrifice is performed after the Eid ul Adha prayer — a mandatory condition in the Hanafi madhab. Animals meet all required standards for age, health, and condition. Your name is recited at the time of slaughter. Meat is distributed to those in genuine need, fulfilling all conditions of a valid Udhiyah.
A sheep or goat counts as one full Qurbani for one person — and the animal is dedicated entirely to you alone. A cow can be shared among up to 7 people, with each 1/7 share counting as one full Qurbani. Both equally fulfil the obligation. The sheep/goat option gives you a dedicated animal for your Qurbani only; the cow share means you share the animal with up to 6 other donors.
Yes. You may specify any name — living or deceased — in your order notes at checkout. The Qurbani will be performed and the name recited at the time of sacrifice. This is widely permitted by scholars as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah. Note: this should be in addition to your own obligatory Qurbani, not a replacement for it.
Ghafori Foods works with trusted family contacts and local community members across Kabul, Kandahar, and Logar. These are people we know personally — not anonymous intermediaries. Animals are sourced from local Afghan farmers, and slaughter is performed by knowledgeable, Shariah-compliant individuals.
You receive a photo of your live animal before Eid — sent to your email prior to the Day of Sacrifice. After Eid, the distribution video and your personalized digital certificate are delivered within 7 to 10 days. If connectivity in remote areas causes any delay, we communicate with you proactively.
Our prices reflect what animals actually cost in Afghanistan. In the 2026 season, sheep and goats ranged from 12,000 to 15,000 AFN (approximately $258 to $323 CAD), and cows from 70,000 to 110,000 AFN (approximately $1,508 to $2,371 CAD). We add logistics, communications, and the full proof package on top. When prices appear significantly lower elsewhere, the cost is typically subsidized by donations from other donors, or the Qurbani is performed in a different, lower-cost country. We are honest: we publish our cost breakdown openly and charge only what it genuinely costs.
We confirm pricing once Afghan livestock markets set in spring 2027 — quoting a number before that would mean guessing, and we don't do that. The figures on this page are what the 2026 season actually cost. Waiting list members are told first and get their price locked in.
