The traditional way to eat them

In Afghan homes, roasted nakhod is served mixed with green raisins — nakhod-kishmish — in a bowl alongside tea for guests. The crunchy, nutty chickpea and the soft, sweet raisin are a classic pairing. See our Afghan green raisins →

How to enjoy them

Eat them on their own as a crunchy snack, mix them into trail mix with nuts and dried fruit, or put out a bowl for guests with tea.

Storage

Keep sealed in a cool, dry place. After opening, store airtight so they stay crunchy.
