PRODUCT DETAILS
Ziziphus (Sidr) flower honey — 100% pure, raw and unfiltered, from Yemen. Made by bees that forage on the blossom of wild Sidr trees, it is a rare, seasonal honey that has been treasured across the Arabian Peninsula for centuries.
What makes Sidr honey rare?
Sidr trees bloom only briefly each year in remote, mountainous terrain, and harvesting is slow, seasonal and labour-intensive. Genuine Sidr honey — thick, dark and rich in flavour — cannot be mass-produced, which is why authentic Sidr commands a premium price worldwide.
Product features
- 100% raw & unfiltered — no heat processing, no additives, no blending
- True Sidr — from bees foraging on wild Ziziphus (Sidr) blossom in Yemen
- Thick, dark amber honey — a rich, slightly caramel flavour, very different from clover or wildflower honey
- Free shipping across Canada — on every jar size
Sidr honey in traditional practice
Honey has a place of honour in many of the world's oldest traditions, and Sidr is especially valued in Arabian tradition. In Yemen and across the Arabian Peninsula it has been kept in the family pantry for generations. In Tibb al-Nabawi (Prophetic medicine) and in Unani tradition, honey is counted among the most esteemed of foods, and the Qur'an speaks of honey in Surah An-Nahl (16:68–69). Practitioners of these traditions — and many naturopaths today — prefer raw, unheated honey such as Sidr, because it is left exactly as the bees made it.
Traditionally, Sidr honey is taken by the spoonful on its own, stirred into a glass of warm water first thing in the morning, or paired with black seed (nigella).
Traditional uses are shared for cultural and historical interest. Sidr honey is a food and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
How to use it
Drizzle over yogurt, stir into warm (not boiling) tea, or enjoy by the spoonful. Avoid heating raw honey above about 40°C so it keeps its natural, raw character.
Frequently asked questions
Is this honey raw or processed?
100% raw and unfiltered — no heat processing, no additives, no blending with cheaper honey.
How can I tell it's genuine Sidr?
Authentic Sidr is thick, dark amber, with a distinctive rich, slightly caramel aroma — very different from common clover or wildflower honey.
What sizes are available?
250g, 500g and 1kg.
Does raw honey expire?
Properly stored raw honey lasts indefinitely, though its texture may crystallize over time — this is natural and doesn't affect quality.
