Saffron
Where does Ghafori Foods' saffron come from?
Our saffron is Grade I Negin saffron from Herat, Afghanistan, sourced through our family network there.
What grade of saffron is it?
Grade I Negin, the top grade of saffron: only the all-red tip of each stigma, separated by hand, with no yellow style. We sell whole threads only, never powder and never blended. Afghan saffron has won international taste awards.
What sizes of saffron do you sell?
Retail tins of 1g, 2g, 3g, 4.6g (one traditional mesghal), 10g and 25g, plus bulk and foodservice packs of 50g, 100g, 200g, 500g and 1kg. Orders of 500g and 1kg are invoiced directly and paid by EFT or bank transfer.
How should I store saffron?
Keep it airtight, dark and cool. Don't refrigerate it, because condensation damages the threads. Stored this way, saffron keeps its quality for about two years.
Does saffron ship free?
Yes. Every saffron order, retail or bulk, ships free anywhere in Canada with no minimum.
How do I know the saffron is pure?
A purity card is included with every order. Real Negin threads are all red, flare into a small trumpet at one end and release colour slowly in cold water. Purity documentation is available on request for foodservice accounts.

Mamra almonds
What are Mamra almonds, and where are yours from?
Mamra is a distinct almond variety traditionally grown in Afghanistan, not a grade of ordinary almonds. The kernels are smaller and denser than California almonds, with a richer, more buttery flavour and a softer bite. Ours are sourced directly from Afghanistan.
Are your Mamra almonds raw or roasted?
Our Mamra almonds are raw and natural, with no added oil, salt or processing. We also sell Mamra almonds roasted in the shell (Mamra badam) in 500g and 1kg bags.
What sizes do raw Mamra almonds come in?
250g, 500g, 750g, 1kg, 3kg, 5kg and 10kg.
How should I store Mamra almonds?
Keep them airtight in a cool, dark, dry place. Refrigerate them after about a month, or freeze them to keep them longer.
Do Mamra almonds ship free?
Raw Mamra almonds ship free anywhere in Canada at every size, with no minimum. Roasted in-shell Mamra almonds are not included; they follow the standard rule of free shipping on orders of $89 or more (up to 10kg).

Chilgoza pine nuts
What is chilgoza, and where does it come from?
Chilgoza (also called jalghoza or chilghoza) is the pine nut of the wild chilgoza pine, Pinus gerardiana, which grows in the high forests of eastern Afghanistan and across the Hindu Kush. The trees are not farmed: the cones are collected by hand, and there is one short harvest each autumn.
Is your chilgoza raw or roasted?
Ours is new-crop, single-origin Afghan chilgoza, sold in the shell, lightly roasted with nothing added and ready to eat.

How should I store chilgoza?
Cool, dark and airtight. Refrigerate it after about a month, or freeze it to keep it for the whole season.

Afghan dried fruits
Where in Afghanistan do your dried fruits come from?
Our green raisins (kishmish) come from Kandahar and are shade-dried, which keeps their pale green colour. Our red raisins come from Ghazni. Our sun-dried white mulberries (toot), black mulberries, dried apricots and rolled apricots (chapaneemak) are from Afghanistan.
Are your dried apricots sulphured?
No. Our dried apricots are unsulphured, which is why they dry to a dark amber rather than bright orange. They come jumbo without the seed, or whole with the seed in. Chapaneemak are whole apricots pitted, flattened by hand and sun-dried, with no added sugar, preservatives or sulphur.
Is anything added to the raisins and mulberries?
Our red raisins are free from preservatives, and our white mulberries have no additives or preservatives.
What sizes are available?
Green raisins, red raisins, white and black mulberries and dried apricots come in 250g to 10kg (red raisins also in 2kg). Chapaneemak comes in 500g, 750g, 1kg, 3kg and 5kg.
How should I store Afghan dried fruit?
Keep it sealed in a cool, dry, dark place. After opening, store it airtight and refrigerate it in warm weather. Chapaneemak is fully dried and needs no refrigeration.
Do the dried fruits contain nuts?
They may. Our dried fruits are packed in a facility that also handles tree nuts.

Which other nuts and dried fruit do you sell?
California walnut halves and whole California almonds, both from California, USA; jumbo cashews in raw, roasted unsalted and roasted salted styles; naturally sun-dried figs with no additives or preservatives; and unsalted roasted chickpeas (nakhod), ready to eat.
What sizes do they come in?
Each comes in 250g, 500g, 1kg, 3kg, 5kg and 10kg.
How should I store them?
Walnuts keep best cold: store them airtight in the fridge, or freeze them. Keep the others sealed in a cool, dry place and airtight after opening; refrigerate figs, cashews and almonds in warm weather.

Ajwa and Madinah dates
Where do your Ajwa dates come from?
Our Ajwa dates are sourced directly from Madinah, Saudi Arabia, not grown elsewhere and packed under the Ajwa name. They have no added sugar or preservatives.
What sizes and varieties do you sell?
Ajwa dates come in 400g, 800g and a 400g 5-pack. The 2kg Madinah mixed dates gift box holds four varieties from Madinah: Ajwa, Sukkari, Safawi and Suqaie.
How should I store dates?
Keep them in a cool, dry place, or refrigerate them for longer freshness.

Sidr honey
Where does your Sidr honey come from, and is it raw?
It comes from Yemen, from bees foraging on the blossom of wild Sidr (Ziziphus) trees. It is 100% raw and unfiltered, with no heat processing, no additives and no blending with other honey.
What sizes do you sell, and does it ship free?
250g, 500g and 1kg jars. Sidr honey ships free anywhere in Canada at every size.
Why has my raw honey crystallized?
Crystallization is natural in raw honey and does not affect quality. Stand the closed jar in warm water to soften it; avoid microwaving or boiling it.

Zamzam water
Is your Zamzam water authentic and sealed?
We sell original, factory-sealed 5-litre bottles imported directly from Saudi Arabia, not bought through resellers. We never open, decant or refill bottles, any bottle with a broken or tampered seal is not sold, and every bottle can be traced to the shipment it arrived in.
How many bottles can I order, and what does shipping cost?
Order 1, 2 or 4 bottles of 5 litres. Two or more bottles ship free anywhere in Canada. A single bottle ships for $9.99 within Ontario and $15.99 elsewhere in Canada.
What should I check when my Zamzam arrives?
The cap seal should be intact and the label printed on the bottle, not stuck on. If anything looks wrong, photograph it and contact us before opening.
How should I store Zamzam water?
Sealed bottles keep indefinitely stored upright and out of direct sunlight. Once opened, keep the water somewhere cool and away from strong smells; pouring it into a glass bottle keeps it tasting fresh.

Umrah Mubarak gift set
What is in the Umrah Mubarak gift set?
A factory-sealed 5-litre bottle of Zamzam water, 400g of Ajwa dates from Madinah and 1g of Grade I Negin Afghan saffron in an airtight tin. Nothing in the set is repackaged by us.
Does the gift set come gift-wrapped?
No. It ships in a plain protective box built to carry the 5-litre bottle safely, with no presentation wrapping.
How is the gift set shipped?
The set weighs about 6.3kg. Shipping is calculated at checkout before you pay, and orders of $89 or more (up to 10kg) ship free.

Shipping, returns and wholesale
Where does Ghafori Foods ship?
Within Canada only, from our warehouse in Ontario. We are an online-only store, with no storefront and no pickup.
When is shipping free?
Orders of $89 or more ship free (up to 10kg). Saffron, raw Mamra almonds and Sidr honey always ship free at any size; roasted in-shell Mamra is not included. Two or more Zamzam bottles ship free anywhere in Canada. Other shipping costs are calculated at checkout.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days. After dispatch, delivery usually takes 1 to 2 business days within Ontario and Quebec and 3 to 5 business days elsewhere in Canada; remote areas may take longer.
What is your return policy?
Because our products are food, we can't accept returns once an order has shipped. If your order arrives damaged, contains the wrong item or doesn't meet the quality you expected, email info@ghaforifoods.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo, and we will send a replacement or a full refund, including shipping. Orders can be cancelled for a full refund until they ship, and approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
What if my order doesn't arrive?
If your order hasn't arrived within 10 days of your shipping confirmation, contact us and we will trace it, replace it or refund it.
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes. Products sold in 10kg boxes are 15% off the online price for 1 to 5 boxes and 20% off for 6 or more boxes. Business buyers are invoiced directly, and wholesale orders ship by freight within Canada.
