Buy nuts online in Canada
Ghafori Foods sells premium nuts online across Canada, led by two Afghan specialties: royal Mamra almonds and wild chilgoza pine nuts. We also carry California walnut halves and whole almonds, jumbo cashews (raw, roasted unsalted or roasted salted) and roasted chickpeas (nakhod). Most nuts come in sizes from 250g to 10kg.

- Roasted in-shell Mamra almonds (Mamra badam) — 500g and 1kg.
- Chilgoza (jalghoza) — wild Afghan pine nuts in the shell, lightly roasted, from one short autumn harvest.
- California walnut halves — for baking, salads and snacking.
- Jumbo cashews — raw, roasted unsalted or roasted salted.
- California almonds — an everyday whole almond.
- Roasted chickpeas (nakhod) — an unsalted, crunchy snack.
Mamra vs California almonds
Mamra is a distinct almond variety traditionally grown in Afghanistan. Its kernels are smaller and denser, with a richer, more buttery flavour and a softer bite than the common California almond. California almonds are larger and milder, and cost less per kilogram. Read what makes Mamra almonds different.
Storing nuts
Nuts are high in natural oils, so keep them airtight in a cool, dark place. Refrigerate them after about a month, or freeze them to keep them for the season.
Shipping and bulk orders
Orders over $89 ship free across Canada (up to 10kg), and raw Mamra almonds ship free at every size. For 3kg to 10kg bags or ongoing supply, apply for wholesale pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Are your Mamra almonds raw or roasted?
Our Mamra almonds are raw and natural, with no added oil, salt or processing. We also sell roasted Mamra almonds in the shell.
What is chilgoza?
Chilgoza (also called jalghoza or chilghoza) is the pine nut of the wild chilgoza pine, Pinus gerardiana, which grows in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan. It is sold in the shell and cracked open by hand.
Why does chilgoza cost more than other nuts?
Chilgoza trees grow wild at altitude, the cones are collected by hand, and there is only one short harvest each autumn, so supply is limited every year.
How should I store nuts?
Keep them airtight in a cool, dark place. Refrigerate them after about a month, or freeze them to keep them for the whole season.
Do Mamra almonds ship free?
Yes. Raw Mamra almonds ship free anywhere in Canada at every size, with no minimum order.
